Stasis Dermatitis- A condition of the ankles and sometimes legs that can cause itching, swelling and changes in skin appearance due to the swelling of the veins and the improper flow of blood from the legs to the heart. The severity of the swelling can cause a rash that can be very discomforting and a reddish discoloration of the skin that sometimes is permanent. If left unattended it can be the cause of other major illnesses.
