Ever wanted to be in your favorite artists' music video, but didn't know where to start? Here's exactly what you need to do.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Confidence
  • Attractive face
  • Curvy or fit body
  • Determination
  1. Step 1

Work on your look. Are you at your best? BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF! If the answer is no, then you need to get to your absolute best if you want to book a lead in a major music video. The competition is fierce at castings. WORK OUT! Having a big booty is not enough ladies!!! Work on your abs!!!! Tone up those arms and thighs!. Even if you're a bigger size you can always tone up.

Makeup is a must a castings!!!!! I'm not talking just lip gloss. You need to look camera ready at castings! (If you don't know how to apply makeup go to a department store makeup counter, they will help you.)

  2. Step 2

Now that you look like a hip hop model, time to take some pictures! I got booked for a magazine from some digital pictures I had my friend take! YOU DO NOT NEED TO PAY HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS FOR A PORTFOLIO! If you look good, it will show in some digital pictures. Have some clear ones of your face with a plain background. Take some full body shots in a two piece bathing, and some in wearing a cute outfit. THEY DO NOT NEED TO BE PROVACATIVE OR NUDE! Look at Victoria's Secret .... pose like that! Have your hair, nails and makeup done. Don't look like you just woke up...lol

  3. Step 3

Ok, now take those photos and upload them to modelmayhem.com. This is by far the best networking site I have come across. Search photographers in your area. Some photographers do TFP's, which means time for print. Basically, he will shoot you for free and you receive a copy of the picture.
BUT BEWARE!!!!!!! A lot of times, they will just give you a CD of raw(unretouched)images or nothing at all! IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME! HAVE A CONTRACT!)( You can print some of the internet for free, just do a search for photographer contracts.)
CHECK HIS/HER REFERENCES! VERY IMPORTANT! CONTACT MODELS HE/SHE HAS WORKED WITH!
If you see a photographer you like, and he/she doesn't offer TFP's, DO NOT PAY MORE THAN $150 for one look! That's all you really need when you are a beginner. IT IS BETTER TO HAVE ONE GREAT IMAGE THAN 15 HORRIBLE ONES! That in combination with your digital pictures is sufficient to seek an agent!

  4. Step 4

Get an agent! Search for Hip Hop Models online. Type in their names in Wikipedia.org and there should be all their info, including they're agencies and managers! Submit your pictures to them and hope they like your look.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always wear high heels to meet with agents or attend casting calls.
  • Always have a manicure and pedicure.
  • Always wear your hair down to meet with agents or attend casting calls.
  • Always act professional!
  • NEVER do anything you are not comfortable with at a casting.
  • NEVER pay to attend a casting
  • Do not dress too provocatively for castings. Think sexy and classy.
