How to Clean a Venetian Blind
Venetian blinds are a wonderful way to allow light into the home during daylight hours and to maintain privacy at night. A simple twist of a wand creates just the right amount of lighting, and the blinds themselves are appealing. Maintaining clean, dust-free Venetian blinds requires a little extra care. Lay the venetian blinds on the grass and spread them out to their full length.

Spray down with a hose to wet the entire blind.

Pour detergent over the blinds and spray with your hose on the most powerful setting. Be sure to get all areas of the blind with the sprayer.

Rinse with clear water to remove soap residue.

Flip the blinds over and repeat on the opposite side. If dirty areas remain, scrub with a small brush and rinse.

Hang the blinds over a clothesline to drip-dry in the sun.

Remove blinds and rehang them over windows.

Tips & Warnings
Stubborn stains or excessive dirt buildup can be removed by soaking the blinds in the bathtub with hot soapy water and scrubbing the individual blinds with a scrub brush
Maintain a regular schedule of dusting your blinds and spot cleaning any soiled areas with an all purpose cleaner and a damp cloth.
