Some might feel that the raw food diet is for them. Advocates of the raw food diet claim that cooked food is more difficult to digest and often capable of clogging the body with toxins. Vegetarians, who have successfully eliminated all meat, dairy, and sweets out of their diets, might take an extra step and eliminate all fruits and vegetables that require cooking. This diet carries the challenges of living without favorite foods, searching for proteins in fruits and vegetables, and making the majority of bland, cold vegetables palatable.

Things You'll Need:

  • Organic raw foods

    Raw Food Dieting

  1. Step 1

Eat organic foods only. Not only are they healthier for you, but raw foods have the highest amount of pesticides.

  2. Step 2

Take vitamin B12, zinc, iron, and copper supplements. Fruits and vegetables are very low in vitamin B12, zinc, iron, and copper.

  3. Step 3

Use a little salt for flavoring. Use the salt very sparingly. Avocados are also good for simulating creams.

  4. Step 4

Eat fruits earlier and vegetables later. Fruits digest better in the morning, while your stomach handles vegetables better in the evening.

  5. Step 5

Eat raw nuts and seeds, such as sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, filberts, and sprouts in order to get your protein. Eat a variety of these, since plants have only incomplete proteins.

  6. Step 6

Drink plenty of water. Water is important in the cleansing process.

Tips & Warnings
  • Warm food to 118 degrees, since that temperature only warms food and doesn't cook it
  • Be careful how many supplements you take
  • Do not expect others to want to eat the raw food diet
  • If you want to get off the raw food diet, enter cooked foods into your diet gradually or you will develop digestive problems
