Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Talk to your family when or if you have a craving. Family is by far the best unit for outcry testimony. Don't go to a friend for help if you can avoid it. Remember, friends are just friends and will most likely have limited remorse and only help you so much. With family, however, most family members will do anything it takes to help another family member and keep them around. It is also recommended that you talk to your closest family member, one that you know you can put a lot of trust into and one that you know you can rely on when times get tough.
Step2
Practice self discipline. You should know that family members or other outcry witnesses can only help you so much and probably won't be able to be around you 24/7. Practicing self discipline can go a long way when trying to quit just about anything. Sometimes you may have to just remember that you are trying to quit and tell yourself that you don't need this. Another way to practice self discipline (especially with illegal drugs) is remembering that you could get caught doing these drugs and tell yourself that a one time high isn't worth getting into trouble over.
Step3
Stay away from people who use illegal drugs. People who use drugs are often of very little help when it comes time for you to quit. The reason they won't give you the help you need is simply because they use the drugs. If some of the people you know do drugs and they happen to be your friends there are a few ways for handling this which include asking your friends to join in your effort to quitting or leaving your friends indefinitely.
