If you don't exactly remember the original "Dating Game" show, you certainly must have seen the many spin-offs and spoofs. Now the game show is returning to network television, and the producers are looking for contestants willing to take a chance on love.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • An Internet connection to apply online
  • A video camera to tape yourself as part of the application
  1. Step 1

Go to the Embassy Row website, where you'll see the application for "The Dating Game" contestants. You can either apply online or print the application and mail it in to the producers. You must be 18 or older, and a U.S. resident, to apply.

  2. Step 2

Fill out all the questions in the application, read the elibigility rules, and sign the legal release. The application form asks you, among other things, to describe what you like or dislike about your job, discuss how long it's been since you were in a relationship, reveal whether you've ever used a matchmaking website, and describe the most outrageous thing you've ever done. In true "Dating Game" style, the application also asks you to list your three biggest "turn ons" and "turn offs."

  3. Step 3

Get out your video camera and make a required three-minute tape about yourself. The producers would like you to state your name, age, city and state, then tell them what you do for a living, why you’d like to be on "The Dating Game" (unlucky in love, bad dates, recently ended a long-term relationship), why you’d be a great date, and if you have an interesting hobby or talent. Be creative or humorous or both to help your application stand out. Embassy Row only accepts VHS, Mini DV or DVDs.

  4. Step 4

Rewind your tape and label it with your name, city, state and phone number, and mail it to: Embassy Row, ATTN: The Dating Game Casting Dept., 325 Hudson Street, Suite 601, New York, NY 10013. If you're also mailing your written application, you can include the tape with that mailing.

  5. Step 5

Wait until you hear from the producers. You will only hear from them if you've been chosen or if they have questions for you. There is no point in contacting them if you haven't heard, and don't expect to get your video returned.
