How to Create a One of a Kind Display Ball

These step-by-step instructions include directions for a one-of-a-kind display ball made entirely of rope! Place this ball on a fireplace mantle or simply display on a coffee table. This project has unlimited possibilities. Own it and create an entirely new project in itself! Have fun!

Things You’ll Need:

• String - thin gauge any color (color can be changed at any time)
• Elmers white glue
• Disposable bowl - deep enough to submerge string with glue
• Balloons - small/big enough to accomodate the size you wish to achieve

1. Pour glue into disposable bowl. Depending on the size ball you are going to make you should be able to basically eyeball how much glue you need to cover the amount of rope you will be using for this project.
2. Cut rope to desired length/amount. Place string into glue and allow to soak up glue until it is completely wet from one end of string to another.
3. With balloon fully blown to desired size of display ball start to wrap the string around the balloon overlapping string until all string is gone. Tuck end or wrap around existing design to secure. String will harden once dry and any string overlapping will be secured.
   
   Allow 4 hours to *dry thoroughly. Once dry pop balloon and spray paint if you would like to change color! The possibilities are endless. Have fun with this project and use a string of beads or other corded/strung decoration to make ball. Display almost anywhere in need of flair.
   *Drying time may take longer depending on how much string and glue you used in your design.

Tips & Warnings

• Spray or coat balloon lightly with PAM or petroleum jelly to stop string from sticking to latex.
