It seems that nobody drinks HOT coffee anymore! Fancy iced coffee has become a part of our culture, and there are wonderful drinks that didn't exist back in the days of "Gimme a cup of coffee."You can enjoy one of those frothy, cold, delicious treats without ever leaving your house. You can even do the whole thing sugar free. Here's how!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Blender
  • Cold strong coffee and/or espresso
  • Ice (cubed or crushed)
  • Flavored milk substitute (soy, rice, almond)
  • Flavored syrups (optional but nice)
  • Flavored extracts (optional)
  • Sugar (optional)
  • Flavored non-dairy creamers (optional)
  • Non-dairy whipped topping (optional)

How to Make a Non Dairy Frozen Coffee Drink

  1. Step 1

Select your glass, tall or short. Or you can just make a blender full.

  2. Step 2

Fill container one quarter with ice. Put ice into blender.

  3. Step 3

Fill container one quarter with milk substitute or non-dairy creamer. Add to blender.

  4. Step 4

Fill container one quarter with coffee. Add to blender.

  5. Step 5

Add whatever flavors you like. You can use the bottled syrups you find in the coffee aisle, but you can also use extracts from the baking aisle. You can also just add some sugar if you've already used flavored milk/creamer. The sugared and sugar-free options are endless!

  6. Step 6

Blend until whipped, frothy and smooth. Pour a glass, add topping and a straw, drink and enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • For extra flavor, use extra syrup in the cup before you pour in your drink.
  • You can also use chocolate powder or syrup for flavor.
  • The quickest version of this uses cold coffee, ice from the store, and refrigerated vanilla-flavored soy or rice milk.
  • If you have leftovers, add a bit more of each ingredient and blend again.
  • Make sure that all ingredients are chilled before mixing.
  • Only fill your container 3/4 of the way before blending. There will be enough air whipped in to increase the volume the rest of the way.
  • See Warning two to avoid a ceiling dripping with cold, frothy coffee.
