Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 42 treated, 8 feet long, 2-by-6 inch boards
  • 12 treated, 8 feet long, 10-by-6 inch boards
  • 5 treated, 8 feet long, 2-by-4 inch boards
  • 4 treated, 8 feet long, 2-by-8 inch boards
  • 12, 3/8-inch plywood (8 by 4 feet, not treated)
  • 4 treated, 8 feet long, 4-by-4 inch boards
  • 2, sheets 3/4-inch treated plywood (4 by 8 feet)
  • 2 pieces of metal pipe, 8 feet long, 1.5 inch diameter
  • Pencil
  • Paper
  • Screws
  1. Step 1

Dig the area for the 4 pieces of concrete. These should create a square measuring 8 by 8 feet. Cut 2 of the 2-by-6 inch boards to measure 7 feet 9 inches. Use 2 pieces of 8 feet long, 2-by-6 inch boards to create a square on the blocks of concrete. Make dashes at every 8 inches on the outside of the 2-by-6 inch boards. Cut 11 pieces of the 2-by-6 inch boards to 7 feet 9 inches and screw them in on the dashes (there should be 11 dashes).

  2. Step 2

Put a 2-by-6 inch board vertically on top of the plywood. Mark a place 5.5 inches from the bottom of the plywood. Measure up 6 feet 10 inches on the top of the piece of 2-by-6 inch board you just placed on top of the square. Attach a piece of string. Put the string around a pencil and make sure your pencil will reach the mark you placed on the plywood. Draw the transition. Do this on the other side of the plywood. Cut 1 of the sides and use the piece to trace the other 3 pieces.

  3. Step 3

Dig 2 holes for the concrete on each side. Lay the 4 transition pieces on each other. Mark every 8 inches and draw a line along each 4 side piece. Put the side pieces on the cement blocks. Cut the 18 pieces of 2-by-6 inch boards to 7 feet 10.5 inches and screw them in the side pieces. Put a 2-by-6 inch board at the bottom of the side piece. Place a 2-by-6 inch board at each 8 inch mark that you previously made. Cut a piece of 2-by-8 inch board, cut it 7 feet 10.5 inches. Screw it vertically into the top.

  4. Step 4

Use 6 pieces of the 2-by-6 inch boards and cut 18 pieces that will measure 30 inches long. Screw 2 in the side pieces at the top of the board. Cut the 2-by-8 inch board to 8 feet . Screw it in the back of the 2-by-6 inch boards. Stand an 8 feet, 4-by-4 inch board vertically inside of the corner of the 2-by-6 inch boards and 2-by-8 inch boards. Dig another spot for a block where the 4-by-4 inch board meets the ground.

  5. Step 5

Place the 4-by-4 inch board on the top and attach it to the 2-by-6 inch and 2-by-8 inch boards. Mark every foot on the outside of the 2-by-8 and take the 14 pieces of 30-inch 2-by-6s and attach them. Cut a 2-by-4 to 8 inchea and put one at the bottom of the 4-by-4s. Attach this and cut a 2-by-6 the height of your halfpipe and screw it on the side. Cut a 2-by-4 to 35 inches and screw it on the outside of the 4-by-4 and inside the 2-by-6. Cut a 2-by-4 to 7 feet 10.5 inches and attach it on the 2-by-4.

  6. Step 6

Cut each 1-by-6 to 8 feet. The first piece will need to cut out a square that will fit the 4-by-4. Attach the rest of the pieces.

  7. Step 7

Lay 2 layers of 3/8-inch plywood on the center and stagger them about 8 inches. Place the next pieces of plywood opposite of how you just positioned the first two. Each piece will have its edge on a 2-by-6. Do not cut the pieces that are sticking out. Screw in the second layer. Now you may cut off the excess.

  8. Step 8

Drill about 4 holes in each piece of coping. It should be evenly spaced along the length of the halfpipe. Drill through 1 side and screw the coping in the halfpipe.

  9. Step 9

    Skate and enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • If you wish, you can use Skateline to protect the surface of the halfpipe.
