How to Clean Flokati Rugs

A quality rug can be a worthy investment--but it can all come to naught if it falls victim to dirt and grime. Luckily, Greek flokati rugs are highly resistant to dirt and stains, and clean very easily--a blessing for both the rug, and its owners. Instructions

      Take your flokati outside. Shake it and brush it well--to remove any dirt and dust.

      Hand-wash your flokati with a very small amount of mild soap, in cold or lukewarm water.

      After hand-washing thoroughly, rinse the flokati for a few minutes under running water.

    • 4

      Hang your rug out to dry on a clothes line.

    • 5

      Wait until the rug is dry, and give it one final brush.

  • Hot water, chlorine, bleach and dry cleaning can damage the flokati's fibers.
