The Adobe Premiere Pro Audio Mixer is a great tool you can use to adjust your audio track settings while simultaneously listening and watching video tracks. In the mixer, each audio track will have a corresponding mixer control, and it is labeled with its name from the Timeline. You can adjust volume, balance and effects, or choose to record audio directly to your sequence tracks. Here is how to modify the setting of your mixer should you need to customize.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

To display or hide specific tracks in the Audio Mixer, click on the panel’s menu, the little arrow in the upper right-hand corner and select Show/Hide Tracks. In the pop-up window, de-select the tracks you want to hide, and click on OK.

  2. Step 2

You may choose to display the runtime of your clips in audio units rather than video frames. To do this, choose Audio Units from the panel menu. You can change your view from audio units or milliseconds by going to the Project Menu, and then Project Settings, then General. “Audio Units” option will affect the time display in the Audio Mixer, the Program panel and the Timeline panel.

  3. Step 3

To make adjustments to the “Effects and Sends” panel, click on “Show/Hide Effects and Sends,” the small triangle located on the left-hand side of the Audio Mixer panel. You can add effects or send by clicking on one of the triangles in the panel under each individual track. A pop-up menu will open from which you can choose specific track effects.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you have a small monitor or a large amount of tracks, you may have difficulty viewing the entire Audio Mixer at once without scrolling. You can resize the panel by clicking the yellow border of the panel and dragging.
