The spotlight mode on the Canon XH A1 is a useful feature that helps reduce the amount of light that's on the person or object you're filming. This feature is helpful when filming inside or outside theater productions, outside events and other situations where too much light is being used on the subject.

    How to Use the Spotlight Mode on a Canon XH A1

  1. Step 1

    Locate the spotlight mode on your camera. It can be found to the left of the viewing chamber on a small wheel that offers other lighting options. Spotlight mode is represented by a picture of a little man in a spotlight.

  2. Step 2

    Turn the wheel so the arrow is pointing the little man.

  3. Step 3

    Use this feature when filming subjects that are shrouded in too much light or when they are under a spotlight and you want to minimize the amount of darkness around them.

  4. Step 4

    Continue operating the Canon XH A1 as before once you turn on this feature.

  5. Step 5

    Turn off this feature as soon as the lighting changes to avoid overexposure of the subjects you're filming.
