Setting your audio levels manually on your Canon XH A1 is recommended when you want to have more control over the quality of the audio recorded.   1. Step 1

    Locate the audio level button. It should be to the right of the power button.

  2. Step 2

    Switch the button from A (automatic) to M (manual).

  3. Step 3

    Using the channel buttons located above the audio level button, adjust the levels by turning the knobs.

  4. Step 4

    Use the channels frequency monitor located on the power button to see the current audio levels.

  5. Step 5

    Test current levels by speaking loudly and then speaking quietly to see the median levels. Make the necessary adjustments using the knobs.
