Glittery eyeliners come in a vast array of exciting colors.

Glitter is a great way to make an evening outfit more sexy and make yourself feel like a glamour queen. Glittery makeup is a subtle route to this effect that many adult women prefer over body glitter gels and glittery clothes. However, you must be very careful when applying glittery makeup to your face as it can "spread" as the night wears on and irritate contacts and eyes. In this article, we will discuss how to apply glitter eyeliner.

Things You'll Need:

  • Liquid glitter eyeliner
  • Face cleanser
  • Soft washcloth
  • Powdered eyeshadow
  • Dark eyeliner pencil (optional)

    How to Apply Glitter Eyeliner

  1. Step 1

Wash your face. Makeup adheres best to clean skin, so carefully cleanse your face with a soft washcloth before applying any makeup.

  2. Step 2

Apply your eyeshadow. Make sure that you have no more changes or additions to make to your eye shadow or eye makeup--other than mascara--before applying the glitter eyeliner. Also, be sure to use powdered eye shadow as gels tend to smear and will cause the glitter to travel all over your upper face.

  3. Step 3

Apply your dark pencil eyeliner. This will make the glitter more of an accent than the main event and keep focus on your eyes. Do not use liquid eyeliner for this step or the glitter eyeliner will smear it.

  4. Step 4

Stroke on a single line of glitter eyeliner. Begin on the eyelid slightly to the inside of your pupil and follow the line of your eyelid until you reach the outer edge. Then draw the brush up toward the end of your eyebrow for a subtle cat-eye effect. Avoid the corners of your eye as these are the places most likely to be irritated or get itchy from the glitter.
