The diaper bag will be present anytime the baby leaves the house for at least two years. If the diaper bag is disorganized, it can be difficult to quickly find what the baby needs when there's a problem. An organized bag will allow the parent or caregiver to quickly take inventory of the contents and find what they're looking for when something is needed.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

    Arrange Your Diaper Bag

  1. Step 1

Keep the diaper changing accessories near the diapers. Most people keep the diapers in the center of the diaper bag because they are generally too large to fit into one of the pockets. That can make it difficult to gather small items from the diaper bag quickly. Put the small diaper items, such as diaper rash cream and travel baby wipes, together in a seal-able plastic bag. This will make the items easier to find and keep all of the items together.

  2. Step 2

Pack an extra outfit into a second plastic bag. This provides a clean outfit if the baby's diaper leaks onto the first one. It also provides a seal-able bag to put the soiled outfit into.

  3. Step 3

Take a bib that wipes clean or a disposable one. There are plastic-coated bibs that wipe clean easily, making it simple to wipe it with a baby wipe and place it back into the diaper bag. There are also disposable wipes on the market that can be thrown away after one use.

  4. Step 4

Fold a receiving blanket into a small roll and keep it in one of the diaper bag's pockets. If it has no pockets, hold it together with a rubber band. This ensures that it won't come unrolled and obscure everything else in the bag.

  5. Step 5

Carry a toy or two to amuse the baby. These should be small toys that can be held and chewed on. If the baby uses a pacifier, put two of them in the bag. One of them will inevitably be thrown on the floor and having a spare can be the difference between a screaming baby and a calm one.
