The Cosmopolitan is not a martini, but a classic vodka based cocktail in a martini glass. It has become a popular drink due mostly to the hit HBO show and box office hit movie Sex and the City. Here is a simple recipe for making a Premium Cosmopolitan Cocktail.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 40 ml (1 1/3 oz) of citron vodka (Absolut Citron Vodka or Gray Goose Vodka Le Citron)
  • 10 ml (1/3 oz or 2 tsp) best orange liqueur (cointreau or Grand Marnier)
  • 10 ml (1/3 oz or 2 tsp) cranberry juice ( 100 juice with no preservatives, artificial flavors or colors)
  • 1 lime
  • 1 orange peel
  • 1 lemon peel
  1. Step 1

You will need to chill a martini glass

Place the Martini Glass in the freezer for a few hours before pouring your Cosmopolitan.

Fill the Martini Glass with crushed ice and cold water for 1-2 minutes before pouring your Cosmopolitan.

  2. Step 2

In a cocktail shaker, mix the vodka, orange liqueur, and cranberry juice.

  3. Step 3

Cut the lime into four wedges, squeeze two of the limes into the cocktail shaker and drop them in.

  4. Step 4

Add ice cubes to the cocktail shaker and shake for 20 seconds.

  5. Step 5

Empty the ice from the martin glass. Place the strainer over the cocktail shaker and pour the Cosmopolitan into the martin glass.

  6. Step 6

Garnish with a lemon and orange twist.
