Focusing on the side triceps will greatly increase muscle strength in the upper arm, and rid you of the excess flab. Using the resistance bands is an easy, convenient and effective way to work the side triceps. Read on to learn how to work the side triceps with resistance bands.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Resistance bands
  • A hook, secured at about eye level
Step1
Wrap your resistance band around a hook that you have secured at about eye level.
Step2
Facing the secured band, place your feet slightly apart, and bend your knees slightly, as well.
Step3
Hold the ends of the band with each hand. Keep your arms pinned at your sides and bend your elbows with your forearms at a 45-degree angle.
Step4
Next, keeping the band taught, straighten your elbows without moving your shoulders. For this exercise, only the forearms should be moving, as if they are completely separate from the upper arm.
Step5
Palms should be facing backward and elbows fully extended. Hold for a count of three and smoothly return to the starting position.
Step6
Continue this exercise in sets of five, working up to longer sets.

Tips & Warnings

  • The rhythm of this exercise should be as smooth as possible. If you feel that you are struggling with this exercise, try choosing a band with a little more flexibility.
  • Always consult your doctor before you begin any exercise routine.
  • If you feel dizzy or experience any kind of pain during this exercise routine, stop immediately.
