Attach a piece of bluegill securely onto fishing hook and dip pole in the water. Soon crawfish will give gentle tugs on the line. It's probably a crawdad trying to eat your bluegill bait.

Reel the line in carefully being cautious not to knock the crawdad off the bait. There might be more than one crawdad on the bait. Keep a steady hand and don't swing the line around too much otherwise the crawdads will fall off the bait.

Hold the fishing net underneath the crawdads to ensure that any that drop off the bait will still be caught. Crawdads sometimes hide in cracks at the edge of the water. This is a great place to dangle a the bait. Sometimes over one hundred crawfish can be caught in less than an hour.
