College textbooks are incredibly expensive. It can be frustrating when you try to return them after a class, only to find the school bookstore offering mere pennies on the dollar for a book you have never opened. But students can get a lot more bang for their buck when they sell textbooks on Amazon. Read on to learn how to sell textbooks on Amazon.

From Quick Guide: Amazon Marketplace Guide
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Internet access
  • Mailing materials
  1. Step 1

Go to the Seller Central section on Amazon.

  2. Step 2

Set up a sellers account using the Amazon account set-up service.

  3. Step 3

List your textbook using the Amazon ISBN look-up or title look-up tool.

  4. Step 4

Think cheap. Textbook buyers usually look for the cheapest price combined with the best condition. So don't expect to get $50 for your $100 dollar if someone else is advertising the same book, in the same condition for $35.

  5. Step 5

Ship your books as promised. Invest in a few padded mailers and packing tape to keep the textbooks safe during transport.

Tips & Warnings
  • Ship your textbook as soon as possible to avoid bad feedback and possible refund problems.
  • Expect to make a lot more from Amazon buyers than from your school bookstore buy-back program, but don't have unreasonable expectations.
  • Don't list your textbook at a price that's so low, you won't recoup your shipping costs.

on 1/19/2009 Going to local store is old theme, long gone. For books go for online shopping used/new books at Amazon or Ebay.

And more better use price comparison website as your tool to buy books. That is smart move....
