This article explains how to use LiveMocha, italki, and other Internet sites to learn a foreign language.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Go to www.livemocha.com and complete the simple registration process.

  2. Step 2

    Click on the Learn link. Select the language that you want to learn.

  3. Step 3

    LiveMocha offers a variety of lesson types. These include speaking, reading, listening, and comprehension. Do all of them. They are well-written and very useful.

  4. Step 4

    Use the Practice and Share links to write questions and answer questions. Help people learn your language and they will help you learn theirs. Make friends that speak the language you want to learn and want to learn the language that you speak.

  5. Step 5

    Go to www.italki.com and complete the simple registration process.

  6. Step 6

    italki contains files that others post that you can download. There are also groups, wikis, and language pages that you can use to learn. Use these. Also contribute information about the language or languages you speak.

  7. Step 7

    italki also has an instant messenger-like application where you can text chat or speak with people that will help you learn your language. You can also use Skype.

  8. Step 8

    Use YouTube and TeacherTube to find videos of the language that you want to learn.

  9. Step 9

    Wikipedia has a wikibooks section and a wikiversity section that contains books and courses. You may find information pertaining to the language that you want to learn.

  10. Step 10

    Have fun and practice.
