The French are notorious for their sophisticated taste buds, and Madeleine Cookies are no exception. Here is an easy recipe so you can make your own Madeleine Cookies. They go great with coffee or tea.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 4 eggs
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 tbsp. vanilla

Step1
Preheat oven to 425F
Step2
Stir eggs and sugar into top of double boiler until creamy and lukewarm.
Step3
Remove from heat and beat until cool, add flour gradually, and mix well. Fold in butter and add the vanilla.
Step4
Fill molds 2/3 full.
Step5
Bake in a 425 degree oven for ten minutes or until golden brown.
Step6
Dust cooled madeleines with powdered sugar.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use special shell-shaped Madeline molds that have been buttered and floured
  • Make about 5 dozen cookies
