You wish you could turn back time. You accidentally forwarded a very personal email to the wrong person. You were talking about someone and found out they were standing just inches behind you. Whatever the case may be, you goofed, and you are so embarrassed. Here are some steps you can take to get over an embarrassing situation.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Determine the reason for your embarrassment. It might not be as bad as you think, once you have really thought the situation through.
Step2
Put it into perspective. Chances are, whatever you did that is horribly embarrassing right now will be forgotten before you know it.
Step3
Correct the situation. If the embarrassing situation involved hurting another person's feelings, be quick to try and make amends.
Step4
Joke about it. If your embarrassment was harmless and humorous, poking fun at yourself and the situation will help everyone to laugh and then go on.
Step5
Learn from the situation. If you were embarrassed by acting inappropriately, such as gossiping or perhaps drinking too much, consider what changes you can make in your life that will keep similar incidents from occurring in the future.

Tips & Warnings

  • Recall some embarrassing moments from your past. Chances are, they are now some of your funniest anecdotes!
