Flatulence may be a natural body function but it certainly isn't a pleasant smelling one. Just like people some pets seem to get gas more than others. There are a few things you can do to cut down on flatulence and help your pet feel better without leaving a lingering odor behind.

Feed your pet a quality pet food. Many inexpensive brands are loaded with fillers that can cause intestinal gas.

Change brands slowly. If you are switching to another brand of pet food add it to your pet's diet over the course of a few days in order to prevent stomach upset. Add a small portion of the new pet food to the old pet food gradually increasing the new brand amount each day while decreasing the old brand.

Feed your pet small meals more frequently throughout the day. If you feed your pet large meals he may tend to gorge and suffer from stomach upset that results in excess flatulence.

Take your pet for a walk. Exercise aids digestion.

Use yogurt to help relieve gas. Yogurt contains healthy bacteria that aids digestion and decreases flatulence. Give your pet 1 to 2 teaspoons of plain yogurt. It's healthy and pets enjoy the taste of it too.

Great advice! Many people do not realize that buying low-quality dog food with massive amounts of filler and corn can cause their animals so many digestive issues, some much more serious than flatulence. Yogurt does work and is a yummy treat that most dogs enjoy. You just want to make sure the yogurt is plain. Organic or all-natural is also recommended by vets because there are less preservatives, chemicals, etc. that could cause worse stomach upset. -
