Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Boneless chicken
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Soy sauce
  • Lemon juice
  • Orange juice
  • Metal or wood skewers
  • Red & Yellow bell peppers
  • Large red onion
  • Olive oil
  • Large bowl

    How to Make Chicken Skewers

  1. Step 1

Soaking your skewers for over an hour is the first step when making chicken skewers, that is if you are using wood skewers. If you are using the metal ones then all you have to is coat them in some olive oil and set them aside until the food is ready to go on them.

  2. Step 2

Take out your boneless chicken, cut it into 1/2 inch cubes. Place inside of a strainer and rinse making sure you let the chicken drain well.

  3. Step 3

Place boneless chicken inside of a large bowl with one teaspoon of salt, one teaspoon of pepper, 1/2 cup of soy sauce, 1/2 cup of orange juice and 1/2 cup of lemon juice. Mix well, place inside refrigerator for at least 2 hours, no less.

  4. Step 4

Wash your vegetables, remove any seeds from the peppers. Cut peppers and onions into 1 inch pieces and set aside.

  5. Step 5

Grab your skewers and lets begin to make them. Taking one piece of boneless chicken, stick skewer directly in the middle and bring down, add one piece of pepper, and two pieces of onion. Repeat steps until you have four pieces of chicken on the skewer along with the peppers and onions in between.

  6. Step 6

Place finished skewers on a flat pan or plate and season with salt and pepper. Drizzle olive oil on both sides of the chicken skewers and your ready to grill, pan fry or even bake them!

Tips & Warnings
  • Use different vegetables for your chicken skewers. (zucchini, squash, eggplant, tomatoes, etc.)
  • You do not have to use oil if your prefer not to, just sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Be sure when using wooden skewers that you soak them for over an hour, that way if you do decide to grill them they do not catch on fire.
