Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cooked turkey
  • Carving board
  • Sharp carving knife
  • Large oblong platter

How to Carve the Big Bird

  1. Step 1

Take the turkey out of the pan you have cooked it in and place it on the carving board.

  2. Step 2

Get a large sharp carving knife and begin by removing the wings off the bird. Always go from the top of the bird down to the bottom. Place the wings on the plate.

  3. Step 3

Grab the turkey legs and remove them by cutting down towards the carving board. Place the turkey legs on the plate with the wings.

  4. Step 4

Place the knife on the top of the turkey breast located directly in the middle of the bird. Make thin slices of going down towards the carving board, placing each piece on the serving plate. Repeat process until both sides of breast are carved.

  5. Step 5

Arrange the turkey meat by placing the legs in the center of the plate with the wings resting on each leg. Set the carved breast around the wings and legs, making a beautiful presentation of your carved "big bird"

Tips & Warnings
  • If the turkey has stuffing inside, place the stuffing directly in the middle of the serving place and continue with step 5.
  • Add a gravy boat for those who would like gravy with their turkey
  • Be careful when carving the turkey, meat under the legs and towards the breast bone can be extremely hot.
