If you like pasta dishes you'll love this recipe for Stuffed Shells. It's easy and fast to make by following the steps below but your family will think it took hours of slaving in the kitchen. It's a full meal in itself but goes well with garlic bread and a green salad.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 30 Large pasta shells
  • 2 Tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 3 Tablespoons minced onion
  • 1 1/2 Pounds ground pork
  • 2 10 Ounce packages frozen spinach, thawed and dry
  • 3/4 Cup bread crumbs
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 Cup milk
  • 3/4 Cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 Teaspoon basil
  • 1/2 Cup water
  • 1 28 Ounce jar spaghetti sauce
  • 3/4 Cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

    Stuffing The Shells

  1. Step 1

Boil the pasta shells for 5 minutes. Drain and rinse them. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a big baking dish.

  2. Step 2

Put butter or margarine in a big frying pan over medium high heat, add the pork and the onion. Cook for about 5 minutes or till pork is browned. Stir in eggs, spinach, milk, basil, bread crumbs, and Parmesan cheese.

  3. Step 3

Pack two big tablespoons of the pork mixture into the shells. Put the shells in the baking dish. In another bowl mix the water with the spaghetti sauce and then pour that mixture over the shells in the baking dish.

  4. Step 4

Cover the baking dish and bake for about 35 minutes. Take off the cover and sprinkle the mozzarella cheese. Return to oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes till cheese is hot and melted.

Tips & Warnings
  • Stuffing the shells can be made easier if you use a pastry bag or a plastic bag with the corner cut.
  • If desired you can use ground beef or turkey instead of the pork.
