  • 30 peppermint candies (as pictured)
  • 1 12-oz package white chocolate chips
  • 2 TBSP shortening

Instructions

  1. How to Make Peppermint Crunch

    • 1

      Unwrap candies and place in a 1 gallon ziploc bag. Close tightly and use a meat mallet to crush candies. Set aside.

      Place white chocolate chips and shortening in large saucepan over low heat.

    • 3

      Melt chips and shortening, stirring often.

    • 4

      When chips are completely melted and mixture is smooth, remove from heat. Stir in crushed peppermint candies.

      Quickly spread onto a jelly roll pan. Refrigerate 20-30 minutes.Remove from refrigerator, and break into small pieces to serve.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also use butter flavored shortening in this recipe.

  • Store any unused candy in container with tight fitting lid.

  • Watch candy carefully as it melts so that the mixture doesn't scorch.
