How to Sign up for Xbox Live

One of biggest advances to be made in the realm of video gaming in the past few years is the ability to play online against other players. With this advancement in technology, players from across the globe are able to pit their skills against one another to see who comes out on top. The video game console Xbox 360 has a popular online gaming world called Xbox Live. Signing up is easy.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Instructions

  1. 1

Plug the Internet cable into your Xbox 360 console. There will be an input for the Internet cable on the back left side of the console. Simply plug the cable into this input and make sure that the other end connects to your cable modem or router, and that it has an active signal.

  2. 2

Connect to Xbox Live from the Microsoft interface. Once you have connected your Internet cable to a live signal, turn on your Xbox without a game in the tray. This will take you to the Xbox Dashboard. It will recognize if you are connected to the Internet and offer to allow you to connect to Xbox Live once you have signed into your user profile on your console.

  3. 3

Fill out the required user forms and submit billing information. Click the prompts to connect to Xbox Live, where it will prompt you to sign up. You will have to use your controller and enter your billing information, a desired user name and your current email address. Follow the prompts and double-check your information to make sure you have entered it correctly. After you fill out all of the forms, it will ask you if you want a silver or a gold membership (they vary in price per month and features). Choose the desired monthly membership and agree to the terms. After your credit card information processes, you will be able to use Xbox Live.

  4. 4

Login to Xbox Live and get your gaming on. Now you can log into Xbox Live anytime that you are logged in under your user profile and when you are connected to the Internet.

Tips & Warnings

  • Take your time filling out the forms so you only have to do it once.
  • Make sure you have enough room on your credit card for the billing charges.
