Creating a Primitive Wreath
-
1
Gather the decorations that will be used on the wreath making sure that each one has a hole for the wire. Paint any wood pieces as needed. When dry, lightly sand the top of the piece giving it a worn look. Using a toothbrush and your index finger, lightly speckle the piece with black and white paint specks. Allow to dry.

Cut wire to 6" lengths. Run a piece of wire through one piece of vine on the grapevine and then through the hole in the decoration. Twist to close. Wrap the extra length of wire around a pencil creating what resembles a spring. Attach each decoration in this way around the wreath making sure that each piece of wire has been twirled around the pencil.

Cut the material into 6" x 1" strips. Take one piece and put it through a piece of the grapevine and tie. Continue doing this around the wreath placing them sporadically about 3" apart.
-
4
Take a long piece of straw and separate it to make it thinner. Put four pieces together and put them through a piece of the grapevine, tie and make a small bow. Again, do this around the entire wreath.
-
5
Cut pieces of leaves from the artificial green vine and with a piece of wire, attach them to the wreath about 5" apart.
-
6
Spray the entire wreath very lightly with clear sealer. This will protect it against the weather if placed outside.
