How to Recover a Folder From a Server
With the proliferation of desktop and laptop computers and other electronic devices, it has become necessary to network these appliances to allow them share resources like internet connections and network printers. Normally, when you delete a folder from your computer, it goes to the Recycle Bin or Deleted Items folder. When you are working on a network computer, it may bypass your Recycle Bin and remove the folder from your computer. There are ways to recover your folder from the server should this happen to you.

1
Open the Recycle Bin, Trash Bin or Deleted Items folder to see if the folder you deleted is there. If it is, right-click the folder, then click "Restore" to restore the folder to its original location.

2
Check the version of the server your computer is running on. If it’s Windows Server 2003 or later and the server administrator has Volume Shadow Copy running, restore the deleted folder from Volume Shadow Copy. Right-click the folder that contained the folder you deleted and select "Restore Previous Versions." Select the latest version available, click "Open" and drag the folder you deleted to the desktop. Click "Cancel" in the dialog box and move the folder back to the server.

Tips & Warnings
Never click "Shift" while deleting any files. Your server will bypass your Recycle Bin or Deleted Items folder and remove the item from your computer. This makes it tougher to recover and restore the item should you need to.
