Flaxseed oil is the greatest invention since sliced bread. As cliche as it sounds, this gem of a pill strengthens nails, hair and even aids digestion! With the increasing amount of preservatives in our food and the lack of omega 3 fatty acids, this natural supplement will smooth out the kinks in your digestive tract.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Flaxseed oil, in pill form (gel tablet), oil (to sprinkle on salads) or ground flax (great to top on cereal)
  • Olive Oil
  • Salmon (or omega-filled fish)

    Digest Naturally

  1. Step 1

Purchase flaxseed oil in tablet form at health food stores. You may choose tablets, oil that will need refrigeration, or ground flax.

  2. Step 2

Follow directions on the bottle. It is suggested to take one flaxseed tablet with every meal, but you may want to start once a day to see how your body reacts.

  3. Step 3

Eat foods that are filled with omega 3, such as salmon and walnuts.

  4. Step 4

Use olive oil when cooking or as a dressing on your salad.

  5. Step 5

Notice the difference in your digestion (and your skin, hair and nails!).

Tips & Warnings
  • Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breast feeding before taking flaxseed.

on 5/31/2008 I love adding ground flax to recipes and taking a complete Omega supplement from Swanson Vitamins that is really great! Also, if you have an upset stomach, take some papaya enzymes, they're natural and work like a charm. Some antacids don't really help and contain aluminum.
