Look for the hinge pins on your door. These pins look like long bolts and are directly in the middle of the hinge. You’ll need to take the hinge pins out of the door by tapping on the underside lightly with a hammer. Once the pin starts to slide out of the hinge, you can pull it out from the top.

2
Lay the pins down on a flat surface like the driveway or floor. Lean the pins against a hard object like a concrete block so that you have a little support against the back.

3
Hit the pin with your hammer until you see the pin begin to bend a little. You don’t want to bend the pins too much because they need to go back into the hinges.
-
4
Place the hinge pins back in the hinges of the door. You may need to hit the top of the pin slightly with your hammer until they slide back into place. This will prevent the door from opening and closing on its own.
