How to Prepare for a Headshot Shoot

Getting ready for a headshot shoot is equally important for the subject as well as the photographer. Many people just show up to the shoot without proper preparation. Here are some things to keep in mind when getting your headshots done.

  1. Step 1

    Get plenty of sleep the night before. Looking well rested is incredibly important. Do not go out partying or consume any alcohol the few nights before your shoot.

  2. Step 2

    Choose numerous outfits to wear for your shoot. Pull shirts from your closet that are not too "busy." Choose flattering colors and stay away from stripes, prints and white. Make sure all shirts you choose have a nice neckline. Turtlenecks are also something to avoid.

  3. Step 3

    Drink plenty of water to keep your skin looking its best. Staying hydrated can make you look younger, fresher and overall more attractive.

  4. Step 4

    Iron or steam your clothes. You will really need to look your best, and a wrinkled shirt will make you look unprofessional and unattractive.

  5. Step 5

    Bring your favorite music to the shoot. Music will make you more relaxed, especially if it's your own,
