It's summer time and the weather is hot. Instead of ice cream or soda, plan for a smoothie. With these healthy steps, you will stay refreshed and feel healthy. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
-
Healthy is Smooooth!
-
1
Get rid of your soda and ice cream. You want healthy!
-
2
Get out the blender and plug it in.
-
-
3
Start gathering ingredients from your fridge and freezer, or make a list and go buy them. The great thing about a smoothie is it can be experimental. Don't be afraid to try new things.
-
4
Add fruits: strawberries, bananas, oranges, pineapple, kiwi, blueberries, blackberries, mango--whichever one or ones you want.
-
5
Next add some milk--start with half a cup then go from there. You can always add more depending on how thick you like it.
-
6
You can add half a cup of sugar if you like, too, but try it first without for a healthier treat.
-
7
Add a cup of yogurt, any flavor; plain to pina colada.
-
8
Add ten ice cubes, too. Again, you can always add more.
-
9
If you are feeling risky, add a vegetables, or the juice of a vegetable--like a carrot or tomato. I know this doesn't seem like it fits, but we are going for health here and it will taste great. Think Yin and Yang, sweet and sour. Vegies and fruit will combine for a healthy and refreshing treat.
-
10
Now blend it up, adding more as desired. And feel free to taste test as you go.
-
11
When it is all said and done, write down the ingredients you used and give it a special name. The recipe is yours to try again and again and share with the neighborhood.
