Things You'll Need:
- Cabin air filter
- In cabin microfilter
- Air cleaner filter
- screw driver

Step 1
Type ATo remove the air cleaner filter Type A
1. Loose the screw.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
3. Push down on the clips and remove the air cleaner cover.Remove the air cleaner filter. -
Step 2
Type BTo remove the air cleaner filter Type B
1. Unlatch the clips A,B,C
2. Push down half of air cleaner to clear the bottom retainers.
3. Lift up on half of air cleaner to remove the air cleaner filter.
Replace the old air filter with a new air filter and reassemble.Do check the arrows in the given figure. -
Step 3
Cabin air filterIn- Cabin - Microfilters or CABIN AIR FILTER , restricts the entry of air borne dust and pollen particles and reduces some objectionable outside odors.The filter is located behind the gloves box.To replace the filters perform the following procedures:
Follow the arrows in the given diagrammatic pictorial representation at every steps. -
Step 4
Open gloves boxOpen the gloves box and and press in on the sides so that it will open completely allowing it to hang by the cord.

Step 5
Remove bolt and filterThen,remove the filter cover bolt and remove the filter cover.

Step 6
Insert filterNote that the filters are marked with air flow arrows.The end of the filter with the arrow should face the rear of the vehicle. The arrows should face downward.Insert the first filter into the housing and slide it over to the right. Insert the second filter into the housing.

Step 7
Replace the filter cover.

Step 8
Install the glove box door.

Step 9
Nissan FrontierFill out the date information on the small replacement label and attach it to the glove box lid.

on 12/27/2008 Great information here. Just a quick note to future readers: you have to remove both the upper and lower glovebox in order to fully gain access to the airbox. Remove the lower glovebox first, then the upper. The lower glovebox has a hidden screw on the upper right side, behind the plastic trim and rubber moulding for the passenger door.
When my truck reached the 20k mile marker, I asked the dealer about how hard it was to replace the filter. According to the dealer, it would require total disassembly of the dashboard. I was charged $89.99 to replace the in cabin micro filter on my '06 Frontier. $49.99 for the new filter, and $40 for labor.
Well, I just bought new filters, 2 for $16.99 @ Advance Auto parts. I did the labor myself, which only required removing the upper and lower gloveboxes, 9 screws in all, 10 including the bolt for the air filter cover. The whole thing
