Step1
The first thing you will need to do is get the dimensions of the room, are there sloped ceilings, nooks etc. After you do this you will need to decide if you are going to keep the existing furniture. If you do not need to replace don't, you can always dress it up in the appropriate colors to match the walls and flooring. You can paint the walls for example three walls gray and the other white. Add some border printed with musical emblems, music notes, pianos or what ever you may like. If you choose the paint and border, decide if you want the border around the middle of the walls creating a split effect or around the top which will give you more room to add pictures or dance figures. You may even want to consider some type of wall paper resembling a wooden floor for an auditorium type appearance. You should stay with neutral colors on the walls to give you room to add other more splashy colors when you add your accents.
Step2
As an example The room would be gray walls and one white wall. A border of music notes placed to the top of the ceiling. Silver framed pictures of dancers, cars from grease, musical instruments and of course a picture of a high school play. Switch plates could be silver tone with music notes on them or just plain. Add Grey and white jute back Berber carpeting. As you place your pictures stagger them high to low and or group them according to the sizes. Drapes would be any color you choose because of the neutral theme. A colorful print would be best because now you want to add some color to the room. Remember that when you walk into any room you should be able to take in the entire room without too much gravitation to any one object, unless you want a focal point, whereas you can place a curio cabinet in the room with lighting on it to display miniature items collected from various plays.
Step3
Arrange your furniture and go for your accents, bedspreads, pillows, small throw rugs, dressers with scarfs. You could use a wide variety of colors, again this would be individual preference. Don't be afraid to experiment with colors and placement of the furniture. The entrance door to the bedroom could be done in piano keys. This can be done by stenciling the outline and painting accordingly. You can find stencils for just about anything these days which is great for the creative person.
Step4
Place figurines on and around the computer desk. Dance slippers, small trophies and the like. As with any room, you need to consider the lighting, it should not be too bright and should come across as if you walked onto an auditorium. You could achieve this by placing lights in the corners of the room adjusted to various angles. And finally add a deep maroon color carpet runner to step onto when you enter the room, giving the feeling of going to an awards ceremony.
