How to Bury Your Cat if You Live in an Apartment

Your cat is on his or her last meow and the last thing you want to think about is burying her. Burying your cat is a difficult, emotional thing. What are the options? Cremation, pet cemeteries, they yard. Some people choose to cremate their beloved cats, while others choose to bury them in their yard. If you live in an apartment, you may think you have no other choice but to cremate your cat or find a friend who's willing to give you a part of their yard. Here is a suggestion on how to bury your cat if you live in an apartment.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tree planter
  • Soil
  • Flower seeds or potted flowers
  1. Step 1

    Buy a large tree planter that's about 2-feet deep and as round as a car tire, and put it on your patio or outside your door.

  2. Step 2

    Fill it 1/4 of the way with soil.

  3. Step 3

    Place your cat's body in the soil.

    Cover her or him up with the rest of the soil. At this point, you can even hold a ceremony if you choose.

Tips & Warnings
  • Other alternatives include taking your cat's body to the vet.
  • There is no need to wrap your cat in anything; her body will naturally decompose.
  • You can also bury other small animals in a pot.
  • If you have children, have them paint the side of the planter.

on 1/3/2009 I think my 14 year old Calico is on her way out. She was my best friends cat, until he died 5 years ago, and I adopted her. At his viewing, I promised him that I'd take good care of her for the rest of her life. And that, when she's gone, I'd have her Cremated and bury her at the foot of his grave. Since then, we have moved 797 miles away. This time of year, the ground is frozen solid there, as well. I will keep my promise, though it may be delayed a few Months. Right now, I don't even want to think about it. With no friends or family here, she's all I have! I am doing all that i can for her...
