How to Do Yoga Circular Poses for Back Pain

Yoga can do wonders for your back. The circular pose strengthens your center which in turn eases back pain. This is a restful pose that can be done by just about anyone. For maximum benefit try to incorporate this movement into your routine three times a week. Read on to learn how to do yoga circular poses for back pain.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Yoga mat
  • Quiet location
  1. Step 1

    Lay out your yoga mat in a comfortable location.

  2. Step 2

    Lie on your yoga mat with your back towards the floor. Relax your body into the floor and begin to breathe deeply.

  3. Step 3

    Once you are comfortable and relaxed begin with your right leg and circle it around your body counter-clockwise.

  4. Step 4

    Do this 10 times then relax back into your starting position. Breathe slowly in a controlled manner for 30 seconds.

  5. Step 5

    Begin to rotate your left leg in a counter-clockwise rotation for a 10 count.

  6. Step 6

    Return to starting position and breath slowly with your eyes closed for 60 seconds. You are now done with your circular rotations for back pain.

Tips & Warnings
  • Breathing is essential in this exercise. Make sure you keep breathing slowly and steadily throughout your leg rotations.
  • Do not overextend your legs.
