How to Collect Black Heritage Stamps

Black Heritage stamps are released every January, and after they are sold, no more are ordered until the new Black Heritage stamp releases the following year. If you missed out on collecting the older Black Heritage stamps from 1940 to 2007, here are ways to collect all 80.

• Phone that makes toll-free calls
• Mailing address
• Binder with adhesive pages (optional)

1. 
    

   Call [phone] or send a request form for a catalog to the address below to order all 80 Black Heritage stamps from April 8, 1940 (John James Audubon) to January 10, 2007 (Ella Fitzgerald). The mailing address is Black Heritage, P.O. Box 814, Wilton, CT 06897.

2. 
    

   Include a mailing address for Black Heritage to send a set of three 9 x 12 Black Heritage stamps monthly.

3. Make three payments for three sets of Black Heritage stamps, and a complimentary Black Heritage Commemorative Society Collection book will be sent to your mailing address.

4. Insert the monthly sets of stamps into the additional binder sheets.

5. Visit the post office to find out the date in January when the next Black Heritage stamp will be released in case you do not continue or start membership with Black Heritage.

6. Purchase an individual (or book of) Black Heritage stamp(s) from the United States Postal Service online or off.

7. Peel the adhesive from one Black Heritage stamp, and place the Black Heritage stamp onto a binder sheet.

8. Find or create a biography about the honored African-American on the Black Heritage stamp to include next to the Black Heritage stamp.
