Things You'll Need:
- Camtasia Studio Software
- Microphone with jack to connect to PC or laptop

Step 1
Double-click on the Camtasia Studio icon to open the program. A welcome screen will appear asking "What do you want to do?". Close the Dialog box and click on the downward facing triangle next to the Camtasia Studio logo on the toolbar.

Open the recording program by scrolling down to "Camtasia Audio Editor". A welcome window will appear asking "What do you want to do?" Click inside the circle to the left of "Create a new audio file". The welcome window will close and the Camtasio Audio Editor window will now be open.

Step 3
Plug the microphone into the microphone jack of the PC or Laptop. The microphone jack should have a picture of a microphone near it or say "microphone".

Place the microphone directly in front of the mouth approximately two to six inches away.

Step 5
Click on the red circle that is on the far left of tool bar to begin recording. Once the vertical line starts moving across the screen, start speaking or singing into the microphone. When you are finished, click on the blue square on the tool bar to stop recording. To save the file, click on "File" and scroll down to "save." Type in the file name and click on save.
