If you don't have any children, take it to any pot luck dinner—or make it as an easy weeknight meal. Here's how you can make this simple, hearty stew:

    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    • 1 lb. of ground beef
    • 1 small onion chopped
    • 1/4 cup of uncooked rice
    • 1 can of sliced potatoes
    • 1 can of pinto beans
    • 1 small can of tomato sauce
    • 1/2 cup of water
    • 1 cup of chopped celery
    • Dash of salt
    • Dash of pepper
    • 1/4 tsp. chili powder
    • 1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    • 3 Shakes of Red Pepper flakes
    • Crock Pot
    • Frying Pan

        Get out your frying pan and fry up the ground beef. Drain when finished and add to the crock pot.

        Fry up your onions in the frying pan and add on top of the meat.

        Pour rice on top of the onions.

        Add the rest of the ingredients in the order given: potatoes, celery, pinto beans, salt, pepper, chili powder, worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, red pepper flakes, and water.

        Cover with your crock pot lid and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours.

        Serve hot.

    Tips & Warnings

    • If you don't have a can of plain tomato sauce you can substitute with any kind of spaghetti sauce.

    • If you have a favorite vegetable you can add it after the potatoes. Green peppers or carrots would go well with this dish.

    • Don't cook this dish on high very long or the ingredients will begin to stick to the bottom.
