How to Get Rid of Men's Gray Hair
-
1
Look in the mirror. The first step is to see what your original hair color is, and the second is to see if your gray hair is shiny or dull. It may not seem like that big of a deal as to whether your hair is shiny or dull, but shiny gray hair actually resists coloring. If your hair resists coloring, then you will need to get a different product.

Make the decision. Your next step is to decide whether or not you truly want to get rid of the gray. If you’re not sure, you may want to choose a semi-permanent hair dye. This will allow you to wash it out after 10 to 12 shampoos. This is also a great way to try out different colors of dyes to discover which is the closest to your original hair color. However, don’t go crazy and dye your hair ten times in a row, we are trying to get rid of the gray hair, not your hair altogether.

Go for the permanent. If you know in the bottom of your heart that you were not meant to have gray hair yet, then it’s time for the permanent hair coloring. Remember how you looked in the mirror to discover your original hair color and the sheen of your hair? This is where that information becomes important. Hop in your car and head to your local convenience store. You will find the men’s hair coloring products usually in the same aisle as the women’s hair coloring products.

Decide on a product based on your hair type. Now it’s time to check out the boxes. If you are looking for a non-permanent solution choose a box that says “temporary” or “semi-permanent.” If you have shiny gray hair, choose a box that is specifically for covering gray hair. If your hair has a normal or dull sheen just go ahead and grab any dye that is for men. You may be tempted to use a “for women” product, but I usually recommend steering clear of that idea. It will probably still work, but “for men” products are usually tested on men, and have directions that are specifically aimed towards men.

Rinse and enjoy. The last step is to exactly follow the directions on the box, go through each step by step until you have reached your desired color.

Tips & Warnings
Too many hair dye jobs in a day can have a serious toll on your hair. Try not to dye your hair more than once in a month period or your hair may start falling out.
