Giving your child a clean teething ring is very important. You should wash it before giving it to your child from its store packaging, as well as after every use. There are a couple of ways to clean a teething ring which you can find below.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Teething Ring
  • Dishwasher
  • Wash Cloth
  • Soap
  • Mild Water

    How to Clean Teething Rings

  1. Step 1

Check the packaging that the teething ring came in to see if it is dishwasher safe. If so, this is an easy way to clean a teething ring every time you run the dishwasher.

  2. Step 2

Boil teething rings that are NOT water filled for one to five minutes. Some teething rings may have directions on their store packaging that gives you a time to boil it for. Boiling them should be done before their first use and any time you feel they need to be sterilized.

  3. Step 3

Rinse any type of teething ring that has been used with hot water to start cleaning it.

  4. Step 4

Rub mild soap and scrub the teething ring thoroughly with a wash cloth.

  5. Step 5

Rinse the soap off of the teething ring and pat it dry with a clean towel. It is now ready to go in the fridge to cool or be given back to your baby.

Tips & Warnings
  • Dishwashers will also sterilize a teething ring, but not all of them will be dishwasher safe.
  • Washing with soap and water is sufficient in cleaning your baby's teething ring if it falls on the floor.
  • Never boil water-filled teething rings since they can break or leak.
  • Never tie a string on a teething ring. It could choke or strangle your baby.
