Things You'll Need:

  • Pole
  • Location for the pole
  • Measuring tape (optional)
  • Stud finder (optional)

How to Set Up a Dance Pole

  1. Step 1

Gather your required pieces. Your pole will require assembly, therefore, you will have multiple pieces needed to put your pole up. Before you even attempt to start setting it up you need to make sure you have all the required pieces within reach.

  2. Step 2

Choose a location. It all depends on how many different exercises you will perform on your pole, but you want to ensure you won't get injured because the pole has been located too close to furniture.

  3. Step 3

Locate the stud. You can use a stud finder if you choose but you can also just tap the ceiling to find the stud location. Once you find it, measure from there to the floor to make sure you do not need any extensions. Now set the base of the pole lined up with the center of the joist.

  4. Step 4

Set up bottom pole first. Attach the bottom piece of your pole to the base plate. If your pole has an adjuster you will fit it into the pole now.

  5. Step 5

Attach upper pole to ceiling plate. When you have the lower part of the pole set up you will attach the upper pole to the ceiling plate.

  6. Step 6

Combine each piece. Now that you have both in place you can attach them. Once they are fit together, you will need to use the provided spanner to tighten the ceiling plate to the ceiling joist.

  7. Step 7

Tighten the pole. Be sure while using the spanner you get the pole attached securely and tightly, but be sure you do not overdo it. You don't want to get the pole 'too' tight, so keep checking as you tighten to ensure this doesn't happen. When there is no movement you have successfully set up your pole!
