How to Make Roasted Asparagus with Garlic

Oven roasting is a delicious way to prepare vegetables that is a bit different from steaming or stir frying.Asparagus, paired with garlic, and tossed with a bit of olive oil then roasted in the oven creates a delicious side dish. Serve roasted asparagus with garlic at your next luncheon or dinner celebration.Your friends and family are sure to enjoy this delightful dish.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 bundle asparagus
  • 4-6 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

    Oven Roasting Asparagus with Garlic

  1. Step 1

    Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Step 2

    Trim the ends off the asparagus stalks.

  3. Step 3

    Peel the skin off of 4-6 cloves of garlic. Cut each clove into large chunks.

  4. Step 4

    Add the asparagus and garlic chunks to a mixing bowl and toss with the olive oil.

  5. Step 5

    Spread the asparagus and garlic onto a baking sheet.

  6. Step 6

    Sprinkle the vegetables with the salt.

  7. Step 7

    Place the baking pan in the oven and bake for approximately 15 minutes. The asparagus should be tender yet still a bit crisp and not mushy.

Tips & Warnings
  • 1. This recipe can be made with either white or regular green asparagus.
  • 2. Sprinkle the asparagus and garlic with a bit of freshly ground black pepper after it comes out of the oven if desired.
  • 3. Thicker stalks of asparagus may take a few minutes longer to cook, while really thin stalks of asparagus will take a a few minutes less.
