Throwing nunchucks over your shoulder is a common move in martial arts. While learning this move may take some time, once you perfect it, there are many ways to make it your own. Use this move when transitioning to another move or when you want to add dimension to your routine.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Nunchucks

    How to Do an Over the Shoulder Throw with Nunchucks

  1. Step 1

    Hold one end of the nunchucks in your right hand.

  2. Step 2

    To make sure you're positioning your body correctly, hit your shoulder with the nunchucks by throwing it underneath your arm, but don't let go.

  3. Step 3

    Practice this a few times until you're comfortable with the position of your body and the nunchucks.

  4. Step 4

    Throw the nunchucks underneath your right arm and let go. The nunchucks should spin as they reach the top of your shoulder.

  5. Step 5

    Grab the nunchucks with your right hand as it starts to come down.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't try to force the nunchucks to fall toward your arm. It is much easier to catch the nunchucks by moving your arm and catching it in the air.
