Multiplying with decimal points is much the same as multiplying without decimal points. The biggest difference is that you must know where to place the decimal point when the product is obtained.

        Multiply as if there were no decimal points to get the product.

        Count the numbers to the right of the decimal point in the first factor.

      • 3

        Count the numbers to the right of the decimal point in the second factor.

      • 4

        Add the number derived in step two to the number derived in step three.

      • 5

        Use the answer derived in step four. Count this amount of numbers starting from the back of the answer received in step one.If the sum in step four was three, then count three numbers from the back of the answer received in step one.

        Put the decimal point on front of the number you end up on.
