Things You'll Need:
- Rope
- Post or other object
-
Step 1
Wrap End A around the post or object, and pull the rope around the object. You will need a good amount of rope to complete this hitch. So depending on the thickness of your post and the length of your rope, you may need to pull End A, so it is almost equal with End B (the standing end). The rope should be looped around the post at the end of Step 1.
-
Step 2
Take End A and cross over the first loop you made on the post. Wrap End A around the post again, just like in Step 1. Now you should have two loops on the post that are crossing each other. This is the beginning of the vibration proof hitch. End A should now be on the same side of the post as End B when the loops are completed.
-
Step 3
Put End A under the length of rope attached to End B (the standing end). Put End A under the rope, close to the post. Wrap End A around the rope attached to End B. So, you should have two loops crossing each other on the post, and another loop around the standing end of the rope, near the post. End A has made all of these loops.
-
Step 4
Take End A and place it under the FIRST loop you made on the post. You may have to pull on the loop a little to loosen it, so End A will fit between the loop and the post. Pull End A through the loop, and pull on End B (the standing end) at the same time to tighten the knot.
