How to Make a Makeup Toolbox

Things You'll Need

• Hot glue gun
• Tool box
• Stickers
• Rhinestones
• Paint (color of your choice)
• Paint (clear coat)
• Liners for drawers

1. Select a toolbox. You’ll want to buy a toolbox at either a department store or home improvement store. Some of the best places to look are Sears, Walmart, Lowe’s and Home Depot. Oftentimes you will be able to find a toolbox on sale pretty cheap. When you’re trying to decide which toolbox to get, consider how much makeup you have and how you plan to organize your makeup. Also, don’t worry about the color of the toolbox. It’s likely you’ll be painting over it. Instead, focus on the design and how much storage the toolbox offers.

2. Put the drawer liners in. Once you have selected your toolbox, pick some liners for the drawers of the toolbox. You want to make sure the drawers are lined because they can be slippery. Without liners, your makeup will slide around when you open and close the drawers.

3. Add any other organizers. If you have any organizers that you want to put in your toolbox now is the time to do so. You want to make sure you have everything where you want it before you start decorating. Lipstick organizers are great if you have a large collection of lipstick.

4. Paint the toolbox. Now it’s time to decorate your toolbox. There’s a process to this. If you are going to paint the toolbox, do that first. In some cases, the drawers may come out. However, it’s usually easier to paint it while it’s put together. Once you’ve painted, allow enough time for it to dry completely. Follow up with a clear coat of paint.
