Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Things You’ll Need:
- Change of clothes
- Extra shoes
- Extra socks
- Sunscreen
- Hat
Step1
Dress your child for the weather. However, keep in mind that weather changes and you should also come prepared with a change of clothes in case the weather warms up or cools down. Extra shoes, socks and clothes also come in handy in the case of accidents on the playground or if the clothing gets muddy or wet from the playground or the equipment.
Step2
Protect your child from the sun whenever possible. This includes applying sunscreen as needed and wearing a hat if necessary. Part of keeping your child safe on the playground is protecting them from the harmful UV rays of the sun.
Step3
Supervise the children. Your presence or another adult's presence is always necessary when children play on a playground. In order to keep children safe on playgrounds, an adult should be visible to mediate any problems and always on the look out for potential hazards.
Step4
Teach the children about safety. You should discuss with them the importance of taking turns, no rough play and using the playground equipment properly. It is important for them to understand that being safe is also about behaving well at the playground so that everyone gets to enjoy their time there.
Step5
Check the playground throughly for dangers. This might include looking for loose nuts, bolts or screws, removing any standing water and even cleaning the outdoor toys and furniture.
